Anyone
can ride the bus…
Everyone
should!
Valley Transit
provides public transportation in the greater Lewiston, Clarkston and Asotin area. Valley Transit’s “Dial-a-Ride” system
combines the services of a bus and a taxi: riders call in advance to schedule rides
and are picked up at the curb of their home and taken to the curb of their
destination. Door-to-Door service is
available upon request. Riders are
scheduled in groups wherever possible to efficiently provide as many rides as
possible to the community. A small fixed
route system also operates; please consult the office (743-2545) for information.
·
We offer ADA
accessible service to persons with disabilities, including persons using
wheelchairs.
·
Advance scheduling helps! Riders are
encouraged to schedule their rides in advance, up to two weeks.
·
Prior day advance notice is
required. Valley Transit is not always
able to accommodate all requests due to high demand for our services.
·
Office hours for scheduling
transportation are 8:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m., M-F. An answering machine is available until 5:00
p.m. Sundays and holidays to take reservation information. To cancel a ride, call anytime and leave a
message.
·
Service is available from 6:00 a.m.
(first pick-up) to 6:00
p.m. (last drop-off), M-F.
·
Fares: For Lewiston
service area residents the fare is $2.00 one-way, the fare for Asotin
County
and all other non-Lewiston service area residents is $1.50 one-way; passes are
available for Lewiston
service area residents for $40.00 for 30 trips, and for all non-Lewiston
service area residents for $30.00 for 30 trips (good for three months from date
of purchase). Please remind dispatch if
you are a current Medicaid client.
·
We do our best to respond to changing
schedules; however due to the high demand for our services, we are not always
able to change pick up or drop off times on short notice.
·
Washington
residents 60+ years of age may qualify for help with their fare through the
PTBA. Call 743-2545
for more information.
